1st Asian Cross Country Rally 96(August 25 to August 31 '96) was one of the exceptional events organized by Persatuan Pemotoran Malaysia(PPM). It was a 7-day event for 4 WDs covering a distance of 3000 Km. The rally covered an interesting and adventurous route of forest hilly terrain, mining pool areas, villages and oil palm estates in Peninsula Malaysia and parts of Singapore.
